The second round of group-stage matches arrives with qualification scenarios already beginning to take shape. While Brazil and the United States have opportunities to strengthen their positions, Morocco and Australia will be looking to build on impressive opening performances, and both Türkiye and Paraguay enter a must-win encounter in Group D.
USA vs Australia (Group D)
Saturday, 3:00 AM (Manila Time)
The spotlight falls on co-hosts USA as they look to take a giant step toward the knockout stage against a confident Australian side.
The Americans opened their campaign in emphatic fashion, defeating Paraguay 4-1 behind a strong attacking display led by Folarin Balogun and Gio Reyna. A second straight victory would all but secure their place in the Round of 32 and potentially put them in control of Group D.
Australia, however, arrive with momentum of their own after shocking Türkiye 2-0 in their opener. The Socceroos have once again embraced their reputation as one of the tournament’s most disciplined and resilient teams, with young winger Nestory Irankunda emerging as one of the breakout stars of the competition so far.
The two nations met in a heated friendly in late 2025, a match won by the Americans but remembered for its physical intensity. Expect another fiercely contested battle in Seattle.

Scotland vs Morocco (Group C)
Saturday, 6:00 AM (Manila Time)
One of the most intriguing fixtures of the day features two teams that exceeded expectations in their opening matches.
Scotland earned a hard-fought victory over Haiti to begin their World Cup return, while Morocco impressed many observers by holding tournament favorite Brazil to a 1-1 draw.
The Atlas Lions continue to show why they remain one of the strongest teams outside Europe and South America. Building on their historic semifinal run in 2022, Morocco entered this tournament unbeaten in a lengthy stretch of competitive matches and have once again looked difficult to break down.
For Scotland, a positive result would place them in a strong position heading into their final group match. But slowing down Morocco’s pace and attacking quality could prove their toughest challenge yet.

Brazil vs Haiti (Group C)
Saturday, 8:30 AM (Manila Time)
Brazil enter their clash with Haiti under pressure to deliver.
The five-time world champions were frustrated in their opener against Morocco, settling for a draw despite entering the tournament as one of the favorites. Carlo Ancelotti’s side now need a victory to avoid unnecessary complications heading into Matchday 3.
Vinicius Junior remains Brazil’s primary attacking threat, while the squad is expected to show greater urgency after failing to fully capitalize against Morocco.
Haiti, meanwhile, have embraced their underdog status. Back in the World Cup for the first time since 1974, the Caribbean nation narrowly lost to Scotland but impressed with its organization and determination. Head coach Sébastien Migné described the opportunity to face Brazil as a dream occasion for his players and supporters.
A result against Brazil would rank among the biggest upsets in World Cup history.

Türkiye vs Paraguay (Group D)
Saturday, 11:00 AM (Manila Time)
The final match of the day could have enormous consequences for Group D.
Both teams enter the contest looking to recover from disappointing starts. Türkiye suffered a 2-0 loss to Australia, while Paraguay were overwhelmed by the United States in a 4-1 defeat. Another loss would leave either side facing a near-impossible path to qualification.
Türkiye will lean on its exciting attacking core led by Arda Güler, Kenan Yıldız, and Hakan Çalhanoğlu. The Turks were considered one of the tournament’s most dangerous dark horses entering the competition and now need a response.
Paraguay, meanwhile, continue to rely on their traditional strengths: organization, defensive discipline, and physical play. After a 16-year absence from the World Cup, La Albirroja know their tournament could hinge on this result.
