    The Chameleons enter the match clinging to their Top 4 hopes after snapping a four-game losing streak with a four-set victory over the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles. That win, highlighted by a 20-point outing from Brooke Van Sickle, also saw Nxled rediscover its defensive rhythm, an area that had faltered during its mid-conference slide.

     

    Prior to that breakthrough, Nxled endured a rough stretch that included a tough loss to powerhouse Creamline Cool Smashers, where they showed flashes of competitiveness but struggled to close out sets against elite teams.

    Facing the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in the second round opener, Cantada delivered a 32-point triple-double, reminding the league why she’s considered a “super rookie.”

     

    Beyond her scoring heroics, Cantada contributed 18 receptions and 13 digs, added three blocks, and recorded two aces, carrying the Lady Bulldogs through a grueling five-set battle that ended 24-26, 25-17, 21-25, 25-18, 15-8. The victory also served as redemption for NU, which had fallen to UP in Round 1.

    “For this tournament, we will just keep fighting and giving our best every game. Wherever that takes us, we will accept it. But we will still prepare hard for every match. But that’s how it is, there are things we don’t expect. We just have to be ready and keep fighting. That’s one of the things we have learned: to fight, give our all, and accept wherever we end up. What’s important is that we stay together as a team,” Valdez concluded.

     

    The defeat dropped Creamline to fourth place in the standings with a 5-3 record, tightening the race for playoff positioning in the latter stages of the elimination round.     In a statement released late Tuesday, PNVF president Tony Boy Liao acknowledged the backlash and emphasized the federation’s willingness to listen and evolve.

    Capital1 became the latest team to slide into the next phase following a crucial sequence of results in Sta. Rosa, where victories by Akari Chargers and Farm Fresh Foxies tightened the standings and effectively pushed the Solar Spikers out of Top Four contention. 

     

    Sitting at 3-5, Capital1 showed flashes of promise early in the conference but struggled to sustain momentum against the league’s top contenders.

     

    Their campaign opened with a strong four-set win over ZUS Coffee, highlighted by a breakout showing from their young core, but the team soon ran into consistency issues. Losses to Nxled Chameleons, PLDT High Speed Hitters, and powerhouse Creamline Cool Smashers exposed gaps in execution, particularly in closing sets and maintaining scoring balance.

     

    Galeries Tower, meanwhile, saw its campaign unravel after an encouraging early stretch. The Highrisers pulled off a notable upset against Nxled and even snapped a long losing skid with a gritty win over ZUS Coffee, signaling a potential turnaround.

Despite quietly dealing with the flu since their previous game against Creamline, Soltones delivered a composed and steady performance that helped lift the Akari Chargers to a tense four-set victory over the Galeries Tower Highrisers in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.

     

    The Chargers’ 25-23, 25-23, 14-25, 26-24 triumph stretched their winning run to five games, but the story behind it ran deeper than the scoreboard.

     

    “Since Creamline game, ‘di na po ako okay. Pero ‘yun nga, hindi ako nagsasabi kasi ayoko rin po silang mag-isip, lalo na si coach [Tina Salak],” said the 30-year-old spiker.

     

    Soltones revealed she had been unable to train fully leading into the match, only managing to return to practice a day prior while still struggling to breathe and speak comfortably.

     

    “Nung Sunday, World Bex, kailangan po naming pumunta doon. Doon na po nag-start na magka-trangkaso ako. Hindi ako nakapag-training, kahapon lang ako nakapag-training ulit, kaya hirap ako huminga. Si Coach Tina, nag-a-adjust din sa akin kasi hindi ako makahinga nang maayos. Sa pananalita ko rin, para akong may mic,” she added.

    Rather than dominate statistically, Soltones anchored the floor defense with eight digs and contributed eight points, while guiding her teammates through high-pressure moments.

    The Farm Fresh Foxies continued to build momentum in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, delivering one of the most emphatic wins of the tournament so far with a four-set triumph over perennial contenders, the Creamline Cool Smashers.

     

    In a high-energy clash at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex on Tuesday, March 17, the Foxies showcased both composure and firepower, taking down Creamline, 25-16, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23. The result not only snapped any lingering doubts about their consistency but also sent a clear message to the rest of the league: Farm Fresh is no longer content with being labeled as underdogs.

     

    Leading the charge was Trisha Tubu, who delivered a dominant all-around performance with 22 points built on 16 attacks, five blocks, and one ace. Her presence at the net proved crucial, particularly in key stretches where the Foxies needed to halt Creamline’s runs. Supporting her was Royse Tubino, who erupted for a conference-high 18 points, consistently providing offensive spark.

    The Foxies also leaned on balanced contributions from Riri Meneses and Ces Molina, who chipped in 10 and eight points, respectively. More importantly, Farm Fresh imposed its will defensively, finishing with 14 blocks compared to Creamline’s eight—a decisive edge that underscored their growing confidence and discipline.

    Despite the strong showing, Tubu remained grounded in the postmatch press conference, emphasizing that the team’s rise has been a gradual process fueled by persistence and belief.

    “Laging nasabi ng underdog kami pero siguro po this time, papunta na po kami doon sa goal namin. Onti-onti working on it po pero kita naman po sa mga performance namin na medyo kinakapos lang, pero nandoon po ‘yung grit,” Tubu said.

     

    The victory marked Farm Fresh’s second straight win after a challenging stretch that saw them drop back-to-back five-set matches—games that exposed both their potential and their need for better closing execution. According to Tubu, those lessons are finally translating into results.

     

    “Itong mga few games namin na magkasunod na panalo, doon po nakikita ‘yung ano kulang talaga. Hindi lang ‘yung grit namin, hindi lang ‘yung push, pero ‘yung tinatapos namin ‘yung game. So, I think eto na po ‘yung era ng Farm Fresh na palaban. Hindi lang ‘yung underdog,” she added.

     

    With the win, the Foxies improved to a 4-4 record, drawing level with the Nxled Chameleons in the standings. More importantly, they now sit just one game behind both Creamline and the Akari Chargers in the race for the final two quarterfinal spots—tightening an already competitive playoff picture.

     

    As the elimination round nears its conclusion, Farm Fresh finds itself in a pivotal position. Their next assignment comes against Akari on Saturday, March 21, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre, a matchup that could ultimately determine their postseason fate.

     

    Riding the momentum of a statement victory and fueled by a growing sense of identity, the Foxies are no longer just chasing respect—they are positioning themselves as a legitimate threat in the conference.
