     The PVL season may have ended on the court, but the celebration of the league’s biggest moments only reached its peak under the lights of the awards stage.

     

    At the 2nd Pilipinas PVL Press Corps Awards Night, the league gathered its brightest names for an evening that looked beyond wins and losses — recognizing the performances, growth, leadership, and moments that shaped another landmark season for Philippine volleyball.

     

    And fittingly, the night belonged to more than just one name.

     

    While individual honors highlighted breakout campaigns and career milestones, the bigger story was the depth of talent and impact that continues to push the league forward.

     

    Farm Fresh’s Trisha Tubu emerged as the biggest individual awardee after being named Season Most Valuable Player, capping a campaign that saw the Foxies reach the playoffs across all three conferences and record their strongest finish to date.

     

    But even as she stood at the center of one of the night’s biggest moments, her message reflected the spirit shared by many awardees.

     

    “Unang-una, sobrang thankful po ako and sobrang grateful po sa award na ito… napakaraming players diyan na magagaling at isa ako sa mga nabigyan ng chance po na makuha itong award na ito.”

     

    Her recognition became part of a larger celebration of athletes who helped raise the level of competition throughout the season.

     

    On the rookie side, Bella Belen earned PVL Rookie of the Year honors after quickly establishing herself as one of the league’s most exciting young talents. Her presence in the awards night symbolized another strong wave of incoming stars ready to reshape the league’s future.

     

    Creamline, meanwhile, walked away with Team of the Year, reinforcing the franchise’s continued standard of excellence after another campaign filled with deep playoff runs and memorable performances.

     

    The night also highlighted the league’s elite performers through the PVL Mythical Team, headlined by Tubu alongside Savi Davison, Bella Belen, Pangs Panaga, Majoy Baron, Gel Cayuna, and Kath Arado — a reflection of the league’s balance of power across positions and teams.

    Individual excellence stretched beyond the women’s side as well.

     

    On the men’s front, Jude Garcia captured Spikers’ Turf Season MVP honors after steering Criss Cross to back-to-back championships.

     

    “Hopefully, magtuloy-tuloy and sana mai-angat pa natin ‘yung level and mag-grow pa ‘yung men’s volleyball sa Pilipinas,” Garcia shared.

     

    Though Criss Cross was unable to attend due to commitments in South Korea, the impact of their season remained one of the night’s biggest talking points.

     

    The awards also recognized the people behind sustained success.

     

    Rald Ricafort (PLDT) and Tai Bundit (Criss Cross) shared Coach of the Year honors, while Jonathan Ng of Creamline was named Executive of the Year. Meanwhile, Alyssa Valdez, Erika Santos, and Kim Kianna Dy were recognized for their leadership, improvement, and resilience through special awards.

     

    Beyond trophies, the evening also celebrated moments that transcended the standings.

     

    The Alas Pilipinas women’s beach volleyball team received a special citation for their historic SEA Games gold medal, while the Alas Pilipinas men’s volleyball team was honored for its inspiring international campaign.

     

    And because awards nights have become just as much about style as achievement, Majoy Baron and Mark Calado closed the evening as Stars of the Night, turning heads with standout red-carpet looks that added another layer of celebration.

     

    More than recognizing individual success, the night became a reminder of what the PVL has become: a league no longer defined by a handful of stars, but by an entire generation pushing each other to new heights — on and off the court.

    Early move to pro pays off for Trisha Tubu after PVL Press Corps Season MVP win

    The Farm Fresh Foxies opposite spiker, Trisha Tubu was awarded the season Most Valuable Player at the 2nd PVL Press Corps Awards Night, capping a breakout professional campaign that transformed her from a promising collegiate standout into one of the league’s defining forces.


    Tubu topped the MVP race with a weighted score of 171.868, powered by consistent performances across the PVL On Tour, Invitationals, and All-Filipino Conference. 

     

    She also collected 50.4 media votes and 25.2 team votes, sealing the league’s highest individual honor during the ceremony supported by Immuni+ and Rebisco.

     

    Beyond the numbers, her season was defined by impact as Tubu led Farm Fresh to playoff appearances in all three conferences, highlighted by the franchise’s best-ever fourth-place finish in the All-Filipino Conference.

     

    Her rise carries added weight considering how her professional journey began. The former Adamson Lady Falcons standout took an early leap into the pro ranks without guarantees, a move that now stands validated by both performance and recognition.

     

    Tubu reflected on that decision with honesty, acknowledging the risks that came with leaving college early.

     

    “Siguro po, mula nung nag-take risk ako sa college pa lang na mag-jump na sa pro, siguro in-accept ko na po lahat ng challenge na pwedeng mangyari. And siguro ‘yun po ‘yung naging stepping stone ko para makuha ko po itong ganoong mga awards,” she said.

    Despite her rapid rise, she admitted the MVP honor still felt unreal.

     

    “Actually, sobrang shocked ko talaga kasi never ko naisip na panaginipan or what na magkakaroon ako ng MVP award,” she said.

     

    What has defined Tubu’s season most, however, is not just production but mindset. She emphasized treating every match as if it were her last.

     

    That mentality helped anchor Farm Fresh’s most successful PVL campaign to date, including their first-ever semifinal appearance in the All-Filipino Conference. 

     

    Now, Tubu is setting her sights even higher, aiming to push the Foxies beyond breakthrough status.

     

    “Matulungan ko yung team ko na hindi lang sa Final Four na hopefully mag-podium finish po kami next conference.”

     

    Her dominance was further recognized beyond the MVP award, as she also earned a spot in the PVL Mythical Team alongside Savi Davison, Bella Belen, Pangs Panaga, Majoy Baron, Gel Cayuna, and Kath Arado.

    PVL Press Corps unveils major awardees for PVL Awards Night  

    From rising superstars and breakout scorers to seasoned veterans and inspiring comeback stories, the 2025-26 PVL season produced no shortage of memorable performances.

     

    Now, the league’s brightest names are set to take center stage once more as the best players and biggest stories of the year will be celebrated in the 2nd Pilipinas Live PVL Press Corps Awards Night on May 30 at Novotel Manila Araneta City in Cubao.

     

    Headlining the annual recognition rites is Capital1 rookie sensation Bella Belen, whose seamless transition to the professional ranks earned her the Rookie of the Year award after an impressive debut season.

     

    The former National University star immediately became one of the Solar Spikers’ focal points, showcasing her all-around brilliance on both offense and defense while proving she could thrive under the pressure that came with being the top overall pick of the 2025 PVL Draft.

     

    Belen tallied 69 media votes, 26 team votes, and 91.284 statistical points to finish with 186.284 total points and beat fellow rookies AC Miner, Jean Asis, and Riza Nogales for the recognition.

     

    Her stellar campaign also earned her a place in the season’s Mythical Team and the Best Outside Spiker award after emerging as one of the league’s top scorers and receivers during the All-Filipino Conference.

     

    Joining her in the Best Outside Spiker category is PLDT star Savi Davison, who once again established herself as one of the league’s most consistent offensive weapons.

     

    But the awards night won’t simply celebrate new stars — it will also honor the veterans and comeback stories that shaped the season.

     

    Creamline icon Alyssa Valdez will receive the Miss Quality Minutes award after repeatedly delivering in crucial moments for the Cool Smashers during one of the franchise’s toughest title runs.

     

    With several key Creamline stars dealing with injuries late in the conference, Valdez stepped up with timely performances that helped steady the team en route to its 11th PVL championship.

     

    Another emotional highlight of the night belongs to Kianna Dy, who captured the Comeback Player of the Year award following her inspiring return from a lengthy knee injury recovery.

     

    After missing 559 days, the PLDT standout gradually rediscovered her rhythm and eventually became a major piece in the High Speed Hitters’ successful campaign that included titles in the PVL On Tour and Invitational Conference before a bronze medal finish in the All-Filipino Conference.

    Meanwhile, Erika Santos’ rise into stardom earned her the Most Improved Player award.

     

    Following her move from PLDT to Cignal, Santos blossomed into one of the league’s premier scorers and helped power the Super Spikers to a breakthrough finals appearance in the All-Filipino Conference. Her breakout year also included winning MVP honors during the 2025 PVL On Tour.

     

    Farm Fresh standout Trisha Tubu will also be recognized after winning Best Opposite Spiker honors behind a season that elevated both her reputation and the Foxies franchise.

     

    Tubu spearheaded Farm Fresh’s historic fourth-place finish in the All-Filipino Conference while cementing herself as one of the league’s most dangerous scorers.

     

    Several of the PVL’s most reliable veterans and specialists are likewise set to receive recognition.

     

    Cignal playmaker Gel Cayuna earned Best Setter honors after orchestrating one of the league’s top offenses, while PLDT defensive anchor Kath Arado took home the Best Libero award once again behind another elite season on the floor.

     

    Creamline veteran Pangs Panaga and PLDT ace Majoy Baron, meanwhile, secured the Best Middle Blocker citations after anchoring their respective teams at the net throughout the year.

     

    Taken together, the awardees perfectly captured the story of the PVL season itself — a campaign defined by new stars emerging, veterans continuing to deliver, and players overcoming adversity to leave their mark on the league.

    For nearly an entire season, Creamline and Cignal pushed each other to the limit. By the time the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference Finals arrived, it felt fitting that their rivalry would produce the match everyone would remember most.

     

    The Cool Smashers and Super Spikers turned their title showdown into a full-blown spectacle last April 23 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, battling through five emotionally charged sets before Creamline escaped with a 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 16-25, 15-11 victory to reclaim the championship.

     

    Now, that unforgettable duel is officially being recognized as the Game of the Year in the 2nd Pilipinas Live PVL Press Corps Awards set on May 30 at Novotel Manila Araneta City in Cubao.

     

    The championship clincher wasn’t just about winning a title. It became a snapshot of everything that defined the PVL season — momentum swings, superstar performances, crowd energy, and the refusal of both teams to back down.

     

    More than 17,000 fans inside the Big Dome witnessed Cignal repeatedly claw its way back into the match, including a stunning recovery in the second set where the Super Spikers erased a 2-10 deficit before stealing the frame, 25-22, to even the contest.

     

    The deciding fifth set only added more drama.

    PVL On Tour MVP Erika Santos and All-Filipino Conference MVP Vanie Gandler looked ready to extend the series after combining to give Cignal a 9-7 advantage in the race to 15.

     

    But championship experience ultimately carried Creamline through.

     

    With the pressure at its highest, Jia De Guzman orchestrated the offense with calm precision while Jema Galanza, Pangs Panaga, and Tots Carlos delivered the finishing blows in a decisive 8-2 closing run that sealed the title and ended Creamline’s year-long championship drought.

     

    Carlos delivered the defining sequence of the night, first hammering an off-the-block attack for championship point before shutting the door on Gandler with a massive block that sent the Araneta crowd into celebration.

     

    In a season filled with memorable matches, the finals classic between Creamline and Cignal stood above the rest — not simply because of the trophy at stake, but because it captured exactly why the league continues to grow: two teams, one stage, and a match that felt too dramatic to end.
