Filipino MMA standout Lito Adiwang continues to strengthen his reputation as one of Southeast Asia’s most exciting mixed martial arts prospects, combining explosive striking with relentless forward pressure that has made him a fan favorite under the ONE Championship banner.
Known widely by his moniker “Thunder Kid,” Adiwang has steadily built his career in ONE Championship, where he has become one of the Philippines’ most recognizable combat sports athletes on the international stage. His rise has been marked by a string of memorable performances, technical improvements, and a willingness to test himself against elite regional and global competition.
Adiwang’s most recent outing came at ONE Fight Night 37, held at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 8, 2025. There, he delivered a statement performance, defeating Argentina’s Mauro Mastromarini via first-round TKO. The win reinforced Adiwang’s reputation as a dangerous finisher capable of ending fights early when given the opportunity.

Since that victory, the 33-year-old Filipino striker has focused on refining his skill set and sharpening his overall game, spending an extended training period at a Bali-based camp known for hosting elite international fighters. The environment has allowed him to work alongside high-level athletes from different disciplines, further expanding his striking IQ and overall MMA adaptability.
It is in this setting that Adiwang formed an unexpected but meaningful connection with English fighter Ben Woolliss, a rising talent in his own right. What began as a routine training session quickly evolved into a professional relationship built on mutual respect and competitive intensity.

Recalling their first interaction, Adiwang explained how quickly Woolliss left an impression on him during sparring at the gym.
“I had no idea about him at first. I think it was my second or third day at SOMA, and he joined an MMA class. I sparred with him, and I immediately experienced how good of a striker he is. The pressure he brought was intense. And he’s a really smart guy, too. The mindset he brings to striking is something I admire,” Adiwang said in a media interaction.
He went on to emphasize how those early exchanges helped shape his training experience in Bali, noting the value of being pushed beyond his comfort zone by a high-level partner.
“I was smiling throughout because I have never sparred with someone on that level. So I have been training with him ever since. I’m happy even when he beats me up in training. I remember him hitting me with this incredible body kick. I was literally laughing like a madman because I was telling myself, ‘this is what I need,’” he added.
Adiwang’s openness to challenging sparring sessions reflects his broader approach to continuous improvement, as he prepares for the next stage of his career. The Filipino contender is currently gearing up for a key bantamweight showdown against Indonesia’s multi-time national wrestling champion Eko Roni Saputra in a highly anticipated clash scheduled for Friday, May 15, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
With momentum building and his training sharpened by elite-level rounds in Bali, Adiwang will look to translate his preparation into another statement victory as he aims to climb further up the ONE Championship bantamweight ranks.
