    Now entering their third finals appearance, the approach remains unchanged. “It’s hard for us to answer kasi parang we can’t explain how deep this is for us kasi we know how hard we worked for this. I just have so much gratefulness for the team kasi the player I am today is because of them,” Gandler said.

     

    “The way the team is performing is because we just want the best for each other. It’s really not for ourselves. It’s for each other. And so it’s just, I can’t explain how meaningful it is for me to reach the finals again. I’m thankful to be part of this team.”

    “It means everything to me, but our focus isn’t that we go to the championship. Our focus is that we train like champions every day, so that’s what we do.”

    Even in this win, the journey wasn’t seamless. Farm Fresh struck first, capitalizing on Cignal’s early rust after a 15-day layoff. But instead of unraveling, the Super Spikers reset.

     

    “For me, the first set was winnable. Instead of panicking, like what Vanie said, we just gathered ourselves, looked at where we fell short and fixed our lapses right away,” Santos said.

     

    From there, the match tilted decisively. Cignal tightened its execution while Farm Fresh struggled to find rhythm, committing 27 errors that proved too costly at this stage.

     

    Now, the challenge only intensifies. Cignal faces Creamline next in what will be their third meeting this conference, before closing out the semifinals against PLDT. In a round-robin format where every result carries weight, the margin for error continues to shrink.

     

    “It’s [a lot of pressure], of course, one [miss], you die,” said Gandler. “We don’t really focus on the result, we focus on what we need to do now—if it’s training, the game, each point, each set—then recover after. We just try to do everything we can do to prepare well and not really give ourselves that much pressure on the outcome of the game.”

    “I think being mentally ready and physically ready but also just, I think coming out the same way we did today. You know, balls to the walls like, literally go for everything. Positive energy. Chemistry on the court and I think we’ll be okay,” said Farm Fresh playmaker Alohi Robins-Hardy.

     

    But Cignal represents the counterweight—experience, familiarity, and a proven system. The Super Spikers already own a recent four-set win over Farm Fresh from their prelim clash at the same venue, a reminder that margins at this level are thin but meaningful.     Still, both sides know that past meetings offer little protection now. “Siguro ‘yung recovery talaga and ‘yung mindset namin and kailangan going to the semifinals talagang mas mag-double o mag-triple pa, especially sa preparation namin, very crucial sa amin ‘yung game plan every training,” said Cignal coach Shaq Delos Santos.

    “Hindi pa naman tapos ‘yung trabaho. Ang target namin is talagang maging top ulit. Gagawin namin yung best namin para makabalik kami doon. Pero syempre, lahat naman, gustong manalo. Magpre-prepare mo na kami for Saturday’s game. Balik kami doon sa one point at a time, one stop, so doon muna kami mag-focus,” said Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses.

    Creamline and Farm Fresh completed the semifinal cast on Tuesday night after surviving their respective knockout assignments, joining PLDT and Cignal in what now feels like the most fitting four-team finish to the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

     

    That is what makes this next round feel especially sharp.

     

    These are not four teams stumbling into the biggest stage. These are the same four teams that had already spent the latter part of the tournament jockeying for position, pushing each other for better seeding, and revealing just how thin the margins have become among the conference’s top tier. Now, with the semifinals set to begin on April 11, the race simply resets with the same familiar names still standing.

     

    Creamline booked its return the way champions often do — by looking most comfortable once the pressure peaked.

     

    With the season on the line, the Cool Smashers leaned on experience and control to turn back Akari, 25-23, 25-20, 16-25, 25-16, and secure one of the last two semifinal tickets.     Alyssa Valdez once again looked like the emotional engine of the team, delivering 20 points, 19 digs, and eight receptions in one of her strongest all-around performances of the conference. Bernadeth Pons added 13 points, while Jeanette Panaga chipped in 12 markers as Creamline finally got the balance and poise it had been searching for after an up-and-down stretch entering the Play-In.

     

    The return of Jema Galanza also mattered, even beyond the numbers.For a Creamline side that has spent parts of the conference trying to regain full rhythm and health, having Galanza back in the fold gives the Cool Smashers another layer of depth and stability as they enter a much heavier round-robin semifinal phase. 

     

    Her presence helps complete a veteran core that already includes Valdez, Pons, Panaga, setter Jia De Guzman, and opposite spiker Tots Carlos — a nucleus still capable of making any match feel like it can tilt at any moment.

     

    That is why Creamline remains dangerous even when it has not always looked dominant. On the other side of Tuesday’s twin bill, Farm Fresh did not just reach the semifinals for the first time — it arrived there looking fully deserving of the spot.

    “Alam mo, parang lagi pala kami halos five-setter games and we didn’t even realize it. But I guess that’s when you know both teams are really having that healthy competition. And it’s just so nice to see na parehong teams nagpapakita at nag-i-step up,” Valdez said during a media interaction.

    “I guess at some point, siyempre, andun ‘yung panghihinayang. Pero we don’t have time to dwell on it kasi may mga games agad-agad. Titingnan namin yung mga pagkakamali namin, correct them, learn from this, then move forward and focus on the next game,” she said.

    Her blend of steady playmaking and scoring aggression turned what could have been a tense matchup into a showcase of poise and leadership, reminding fans why the veteran setter continues to command respect in the league.

     

    The pivotal moment came in a five-set thriller against the defending champions at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, where Cayuna delivered 34 excellent sets and 11 points to fuel Cignal’s 25-21, 24-26, 18-25, 25-22, 17-15 win. 

     

    Facing off against the Cool Smashers’ celebrated setter Jia Morado-De Guzman, Cayuna didn’t just keep pace—she dictated the tempo, orchestrating her team’s offense while also contributing crucial points at key moments. The performance earned her the PVL Press Corps Player of the Week award for March 24 to 28, a nod to her ability to rise when it matters most.

Ano ba ‘yung gusto nating gawin para manalo, which is ‘yung mga binitawan nila sa amin doon sa huddle namin,” he said.

    Delos Santos also pointed to the growth of the Cignal core as a key factor in their success. “I think may factor siya [mga hirap na pinagdaanan ng team] plus siguro ‘yung core rin nung team, kung paano sila nag-grow and nag-improve, kung paano nila ginugusto ‘yung ginagawa nila, plus ‘yung binibigay namin na mga skills, at mga situational, kung ano kailangang maramdaman, kung ano ‘yung kailangang gawin,” he said. 

     

    The combination of tactical execution and mental toughness, anchored by Cayuna’s leadership, gave the Super Spikers the edge in high-pressure situations, ultimately propelling them into the semifinals.

     

    With a couple of weeks to prepare before the Final Four begins on April 11 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Cayuna and Cignal now shift focus to the next challenge.
