Fresh from earning a singles wild card for the Bad Homburg Open, the Filipina tennis star is now set to share the court with one of the sport’s most iconic figures after reports emerged that she will partner former world No. 1 and seven-time Grand Slam singles champion Venus Williams in the doubles competition.
For Eala, the partnership represents another remarkable milestone in a year filled with breakthrough moments. Rather than facing one of the legends she grew up watching, the 20-year-old will now compete alongside her.

Earlier this year at the ASB Classic in Auckland, Eala found herself on the opposite side of the net from Williams. Teaming up with Iva Jovic, the Filipina helped eliminate the veteran American and her partner Elina Svitolina in straight sets, 7-6(7), 6-1.
