Magnolia part ways with Nuni Omot, taps in Clint Chapman as replacement

The early stretch of the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup has taken an unexpected turn for the Magnolia Hotshots, as the winless squad makes a bold roster move in search of a breakthrough.

Still searching for their first win, Magnolia didn’t wait for the standings to bury them deeper. Instead, they made a decisive shift, one that signals urgency more than anything else.

Despite strong individual performances, the team has chosen to part ways with import Nuni Omot and bring in reinforcement Clint Chapman.

In what turned out to be his final game in a Magnolia jersey, Omot delivered a near-complete performance, 38 points on 15-of-22 shooting, along with seven rebounds and nine assists. Across his stint, he averaged 32.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.0 assists while shooting an impressive 43.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Even head coach LA Tenorio acknowledged as much after their latest setback, a 97-91 loss to Robert Upshaw III and the Blackwater Bossing at the Ynares Center, “is not all about the import.”

Still, results ultimately dictate decisions and with Magnolia stuck in a losing skid, the team opted for a different kind of presence on the court.

Chapman, a 6-foot-10 big man with a decade-long professional journey that has taken him across Europe and Asia. Fresh from a stint with Antonine in Lebanon’s DLBL, he brings with him averages of 17.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and solid defensive numbers.

Chapman has already arrived in Manila and joined team practices, wasting no time integrating into Magnolia’s system. His expected debut comes quickly, with the Hotshots set to face winless Macau at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on March 28.

For Magnolia, the import change is less about replacing production and more about reshaping the team’s identity. Omot carried the scoring load, but basketball games aren’t won on numbers alone.

The Hotshots are betting that Chapman’s presence can unlock a different rhythm, one that translates into wins.

  • Filipino CODM team Elevate bounces back to top after last year’s World Championship loss

Filipino CODM team Elevate bounces back to top after last year’s World Championship loss

Pressure doesn’t break champions—it reveals them. And for Elevate, Garena Masters X became the perfect stage to prove that their reign was far from over.

Coming into the tournament, the spotlight wasn’t entirely theirs. Alula Club arrived as a reinforced superteam, stacking their roster with elite talents like FDx, Skerd, Jhai, Indonesian standout Clove, and Brazilian addition Lucaszin.

On paper, they looked unstoppable, especially after previously denying Elevate the crown in Garena Masters IX.

Both squads tore through the group stage undefeated, setting up an inevitable clash that felt less like a match and more like a continuation of a growing regional rivalry.

Their upper bracket finals meeting delivered exactly that five games of relentless trading blows, culminating in Elevate clutching a decisive Search and Destroy to secure a grand finals berth with a twice-to-beat advantage.

Still, it didn’t end there as in the grand finals, Alula refused to fade, pushing Elevate to the brink. For a moment, it seemed the narrative would repeat itself. But this time, Elevate rewrote the ending.

With their backs against the wall, the “Red Rebellion” leaned on something no stat sheet can measure—experience. They rallied, strung together three straight rounds in a crucial Control map, and flipped the momentum of the series.

From there, the confidence was unmistakable. Elevate closed out the series 4-2, reclaiming their place at the top. As their head coach, Mark “Olea” Olea pointed to that intangible edge as the difference-maker.

“Masasabi ko siguro yung experience nila sa laro lalo lagi kami sa lower bracket kaya siguro sanay kami sa mga pressure lalo do or die game. Alam ko na kaya nila mag comeback at ilang beses na namin ginawa ito online at LAN tournament kaya ganun ako katiwala sa kanila,” he said.

Beyond the trophy and the $20,000 prize, the victory sends a louder message: Elevate thrives in adversity.

While Alula Club walks away with $9,000 and a reinforced reputation as a powerhouse, the rivalry between these two teams is far from settled—it’s only getting sharper.

With Team Star Magic, Elunari Esports, Skaeri, and Elite Ascend joining them, both finalists now look ahead to the Garena Summer Invitational.

  • Golden Mahjong Deluxe Slot: Master Cascading Wins and Dual Free Spins on OKBet

Golden Mahjong Deluxe Slot: Master Cascading Wins and Dual Free Spins on OKBet

Golden Mahjong Deluxe reinvents the ancient tile-based game of Mahjong, transforming it into a dynamic online slot experience. Combining Mahjong’s visual charm with cascading reels, transforming Wilds, and a dual-tiered free spins system, this slot offers both strategy and excitement. With a unique 4-5-5-5-4 reel layout and 2,000 ways to win, every spin feels like a puzzle, rewarding momentum and careful play.

Game Features That Keep the Action Rolling

Golden Mahjong Deluxe is packed with mechanics that elevate each spin. Its standout feature is the Cascading Reels, where winning symbols disappear and new ones fall into place, allowing multiple consecutive wins in a single spin. This creates the foundation for the game’s progressive multiplier, which starts at x1 and climbs to x5 with successive cascades, maximizing payouts for skilled players.

Another core mechanic is the Gold Plated Symbols. When these symbols contribute to a win, they transform into Wilds for the next cascade, greatly increasing the chance of additional wins. Certain Wilds may even persist for multiple cascades, giving players the opportunity to build substantial payouts in a single spin.

Golden Mahjong Deluxe also offers a dual-tiered Free Spins system. The standard Free Spins round awards 10 spins with multipliers up to x10 and guaranteed Gold Plated symbols on reels 2 and 4. The high-volatility Golden Free Spins round offers multipliers up to x25 and higher chances for extended cascades, triggered by a combination of regular and Golden Scatter symbols. Players can even purchase direct access to these bonus rounds via the Buy Feature, choosing either the standard or Golden Free Spins for faster action.

Additionally, the Extra Play ante bet increases the total wager by 25% to add more Gold Plated symbols to the reels, raising the likelihood of triggering Wild transformations and long cascade sequences.

Understanding the 4-5-5-5-4 Grid and 2,000 Ways to Win

Golden Mahjong Deluxe features an unconventional 5-reel grid with a 4-5-5-5-4 row structure. This provides 2,000 fixed ways to win, meaning matching symbols on three or more adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel, form winning combinations. The taller middle reels enhance the probability of cascades, giving every spin more potential for consecutive wins.

The combination of cascading reels, Gold Plated symbols, and the progressive multiplier makes even a modest win feel like the start of a bigger payout sequence. Each spin becomes a puzzle where timing, luck, and symbol placement all matter.

    Volatility, RTP, and Winning Potential

Golden Mahjong Deluxe has an RTP of 96%, which is considered industry average. While the volatility isn’t officially disclosed, gameplay suggests a medium-high volatility, with frequent small wins in the base game and rare but substantial payouts in the Golden Free Spins round.

The bonus features, particularly the Golden Free Spins, hold the greatest payout potential, with multipliers up to x25. Players should expect periods of moderate wins interspersed with high excitement when cascades and multipliers align perfectly.

OKBET is Asia’s most trusted and popular online sports gaming platform. Visit us on OKBET to stay up to date with all sports news from around the world.

Immerse Yourself in the Mahjong Theme

Golden Mahjong Deluxe keeps the Mahjong aesthetic front and center, featuring tiles adorned with traditional Asian symbols and the iconic green ‘發’ (Fā) tile, representing wealth and fortune. The slot’s vibrant visuals, cascading animations, and strategic gameplay make each spin feel interactive, balancing both modern slot mechanics and the charm of classic Mahjong.

How to Play Golden Mahjong Deluxe

    1. Determine Your Stake – Use the “-” and “+” buttons at the bottom of the screen to set your bet per spin.
    2. Spin the Reels – Press the “Spin” button to play a round with your chosen stake.
    3. Use Autoplay – Select a number of automatic spins to let the game play continuously.
    4. Activate Extra Play – Increase your bet by 25% to boost Gold Plated symbols and cascade potential.
    5. Buy Free Spins – Directly access either standard Free Spins or Golden Free Spins for faster bonus action.
    6. Enable Turbo Mode – Use the lightning icon for faster spins and quicker gameplay.

    Winning Strategies and Responsible Play

To maximize enjoyment and success in Golden Mahjong Deluxe:

    • Set a budget: Decide your spending limit before playing.
    • Adjust bets strategically: Scale wagers according to bankroll.
    • Focus on bonus features: Aim to trigger cascades and free spins for higher payouts.
    • Practice with the demo: Learn the mechanics risk-free before wagering real money.
    • Play on licensed platforms: Ensure fair play and secure transactions.

    Mobile and Accessibility Features

Golden Mahjong Deluxe is fully optimized for mobile and desktop play. Both iOS and Android users benefit from smooth touch controls, Autoplay options, and high-quality graphics, allowing seamless gameplay anytime, anywhere.

Why Golden Mahjong Deluxe Stands Out

Golden Mahjong Deluxe isn’t just a slot; it’s a strategic Mahjong-inspired experience. With cascading reels, transforming Gold Plated symbols, dual free spins modes, and progressive multipliers, the game rewards both careful planning and lucky streaks. Its unique 4-5-5-5-4 layout and 2,000 ways to win make it a standout among Asian-themed slots, offering a perfect balance of visual appeal, strategy, and high payout potential.

Whether chasing big multipliers or enjoying the Mahjong-inspired aesthetics, Golden Mahjong Deluxe offers a fresh, engaging slot experience that blends strategy, luck, and immersive gameplay.

  • Legacy grows as new legends join Philippine Sports Hall of Fame fifth batch of inductees

Legacy grows as new legends join Philippine Sports Hall of Fame fifth batch of inductees

On May 20 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, that legacy will grow even stronger as the Philippine Sports Hall of Fame unveils its fifth induction class, adding a new chapter to the country’s rich sporting history.

Rather than simply honoring achievements, the Hall of Fame has evolved into a bridge between generations—linking today’s rising athletes with the icons who paved the way.

Established in 1999 through Republic Act No. 8757 by then-president Joseph Estrada, the institution was built not just to celebrate excellence, but to preserve it.

This year’s selection process reflected that same commitment to legacy. From an initial pool of 75 nominees, a carefully assembled committee worked through a rigorous screening designed to go beyond statistics and accolades.

Leading the process were Patrick Gregorio and Abraham Tolentino, joined by a mix of sports officials and stakeholders tasked with identifying figures whose impact transcended their respective disciplines.

Before final decisions were made, a separate panel of veteran sports journalists and individuals who have chronicled decades of Philippine sports—offered their insights to ensure that each candidate’s story was fully understood and properly weighed.

OKBET is Asia’s most trusted and popular online sports gaming platform. Visit us on OKBET to stay up to date with all sports news from around the world.

The multi-layered evaluation underscored how enshrinement is not simply about recognition, but about safeguarding credibility and historical significance.

Since its first induction in 2010, the Hall of Fame has steadily built a roster that reads like a timeline of Philippine sports excellence.

Trailblazers such as Simeon Toribio, Gabriel Elorde, and Teofilo Yldefonso laid the foundation, while later additions like Eugene Torre, Lydia de Vega-Mercado, and Robert Jaworski expanded its reach across eras and disciplines.

Each class has not only celebrated individual greatness but also reflected the evolving identity of Philippine sports, from early Olympic pioneers to modern-day global competitors.

Eligibility remains deliberately strict. Only those who have reached the podium in major international competitions such as the Southeast Asian Games, Asian Games, Olympics, or World Championships that have claimed world titles—are considered.

The criteria ensure that every name added carries both achievement and meaning. As the Hall prepares to welcome its newest members, the moment is less about looking back and more about continuity.

The stories being honored are not just reminders of past triumphs, they are markers of possibility for the future.

  • No Holy Week break for Gilas 3×3 as nationals chase Asia Cup gains

No Holy Week break for Gilas 3×3 as nationals chase Asia Cup gains

Even with the PBA on pause for Holy Week, basketball remains in full swing for a select group of Filipino standouts tasked to represent the country in the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2026 in Singapore.

On the men’s side, Ralph Cu from Ginebra, Chris Koon from Magnolia, and Jerrick Ahanmisi from Terrafirma will suit up despite the PBA’s scheduled break, joined by University of the Philippines big man Sean Alter.

Instead of rest and recovery, the four national representatives shifts focus to the high-speed, high-pressure demands of 3×3 basketball.

Their shared experience in the UAAP scene offers a foundation of chemistry, something that becomes even more valuable in a format where games are short, possessions are limited, and every decision matters. Gilas Men must first get through Qualifying Draw A against Maldives and Thailand to earn a spot in the main draw.

If they advance, a tougher test awaits in Pool A against Mongolia and Chinese Taipei, two teams known for their physicality and discipline.

The women’s team faces a similar situation. Afril Bernardino, Mikka Cacho, Kacey dela Rosa, and Cheska Apag enter the tournament as the fifth seed, carrying the confidence of last year’s fourth-place finish. Yet even with that momentum, there is little room to ease into competition.

Awaiting them is a matchup against the winner of Qualifying Draw D, with powerhouse Australia already looming in Pool D.

Under coach Anton Altamirano, the team has focused on sharpening its quick-strike offense and defensive rotations—key elements in a format that rewards speed and precision.

What makes this campaign stand out is the sacrifice behind it. While many spend Holy Week in reflection and rest, these athletes remain locked into preparation and competition.

At stake is more than just placement. For Gilas, the Asia Cup is a proving ground—not only to improve on last year’s results, where the men placed 15th and the women finished just outside the podium, but also to show that Philippine 3×3 basketball continues to grow despite challenges.

  • Alex Carpio draws strength from global Filipino support as Filipinas eye World Cup return

Alex Carpio draws strength from global Filipino support as Filipinas eye World Cup return

For the Philippine women’s national football team, the road to the FIFA Women’s World Cup has not just been defined by results—it has been shaped by a presence that follows them wherever they go.

From Southeast Asia to Australia, and soon to Brazil, the Filipinas are discovering that their strongest advantage may not always be visible on the pitch. It is in the unwavering support of Filipinos across the globe.

After securing a second consecutive World Cup berth with a crucial play-in victory over Uzbekistan in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Australia, the team once again felt that familiar surge—not just of relief, but of connection to a fanbase that stretches far beyond home soil.

Midfielder Alessandrea “Alex” Carpio sees that connection as something bigger than football.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to see just how global the fanbase is for the Philippines,” she said.

That global backing proved vital during a challenging Asian Cup campaign, where results did not always go their way. Yet even in difficult moments, the team never felt isolated.

“In the Asian Cup, we faced a lot of strong opposition … and we weren’t able to get the results that we might have wanted,” the US-raised standout said.

OKBET is Asia’s most trusted and popular online sports gaming platform. Visit us on OKBET to stay up to date with all sports news from around the world.

“We had a few losses and the unconditional support and love from the Filipino community uplifted our spirits. And we were able to move on and focus on the next games, just because no matter the result, the Filipinos were very supportive of us. They say, ‘We’re so proud of you. We’ll be supporting you in the next games,” she added.

That kind of support has become a constant, no matter the tournament or location. Whether in Vietnam for the AFF competition or in Thailand for the Southeast Asian Games, the Filipinas have repeatedly found themselves at awe by crowds that feel like home.

Carpio recalled that during those regional tournaments, the presence of Filipino fans often rivaled that of host nations, turning away venues into something far more familiar.

“We were in Chonburi, I believe. And … we still had such a big showing of Filipinos. I think it was the Thailand game, [where we] had about as many Filipino supporters as there were Thailand supporters,” she said.

Now, with Brazil set to host the next World Cup, the Filipinas are preparing for another leap competitively. Football’s most passionate stage awaits, but so too does the possibility of yet another powerful display of Filipino pride abroad.

As one of six Asian representatives alongside regional powerhouses, the Philippines enters the tournament with history already made and higher expectations ahead.

  • Galeries Tower, Choco Mucho keep seasons alive as PVL Play-In pressure produces breakthrough performances

Galeries Tower, Choco Mucho keep seasons alive as PVL Play-In pressure produces breakthrough performances

Survival, not seeding, has become the true currency in the PVL All-Filipino Conference Play-In on Tuesday as two teams proved they have plenty left to spend.

At the FilOil Centre in San Juan, the postseason’s backdoor route turned into a stage for reinvention. Lower-ranked squads, once on the brink of elimination, flipped the narrative and showed that momentum can outweigh rankings when everything is on the line.

The biggest statement came from Galeries Tower, the No. 9 seed that refused to play like an underdog. Facing a higher-ranked Capital1 side, the Highrisers swept their way to a 25-16, 25-20, 30-28 victory.

Galeries leaned on collective firepower and cohesion. Their system clicked at the right time, with multiple scoring options stretching Capital1’s defense thin. The result was a composed, confident performance that looked more like a team peaking than one merely trying to survive.

Meanwhile, Capital1’s star player Bella Belen once again carried the offensive load with 21 points, but with no other player reaching double digits, the imbalance proved costly in a win-or-go-home scenario. The victory sends Galeries into a tougher test against the NXLed Chameleons.

OKBET is Asia’s most trusted and popular online sports gaming platform. Visit us on OKBET to stay up to date with all sports news from around the world.

If Galeries’ win was about control, Choco Mucho’s triumph in the nightcap was about resilience. Dragged into a grueling five-set duel by ZUS Coffee, the Flying Titans had to rediscover their rhythm multiple times before pulling off a 21-25, 25-22, 13-25, 25-11, 15-11 escape.

The match unfolded like a test of endurance, with momentum swinging wildly before Choco Mucho found its footing when it mattered most.

Sisi Rondina once again proved to be the heartbeat of the team, delivering a near all-around masterpiece with 27 points alongside heavy defensive contributions. While Maddie Madayag, Eya Laure, Kat Tolentino, and Deanna Wong all played crucial roles, giving the squad a more complete shape at the perfect time.

For ZUS Coffee, the loss marked the end of a difficult campaign. Despite flashes of promise from Riza Nogales and Thea Gagate, consistency remained elusive throughout the tournamen.

As the Play-Ins progress, the stakes only get higher—but so does the level of belief for the teams still standing.

Galeries Tower now heads into its next matchup with growing confidence, while Choco Mucho prepares for a showdown against the Akari Chargers with renewed chemistry.

  • Rald Ricafort, Shaq Delos Santos lead race for coaching spotlight in PVL All-Star Game

Rald Ricafort, Shaq Delos Santos lead race for coaching spotlight in PVL All-Star Game

While fan voting has begun to shape the spotlight for the PVL All-Star Game, another compelling storyline is quietly taking form behind the scenes on who will call the shots from the sidelines.

As the first week of voting shows the result last March 22, the league’s brightest stars are leading the polls, but it is the success of teams in the preliminary round that is expected to determine the head coaches for the much-anticipated Team Heart versus Team Hustle clash.

With the preliminary phase now in the books and the league moving into the play-in and qualifying rounds, attention shifts to the standings—where the PLDT High Speed Hitters and the Cignal Super Spikers have emerged as the top two teams in the preliminary round.

PLDT secured the No. 1 spot with a 7-2 record under head coach Rald Ricafort, while Cignal followed closely at 6-3, guided by veteran tactician Shaq Delos Santos. These two coaches are in prime position to take charge of the All-Star squads.

But beyond standings, this potential coaching duel represents a meeting of two different yet equally accomplished journeys.

Ricafort has steadily built a reputation for adaptability and success, becoming the first PVL coach to win championships with two different teams, first with Petro Gazz in the 2022 Reinforced Conference and later with PLDT in 2025.

OKBET is Asia’s most trusted and popular online sports gaming platform. Visit us on OKBET to stay up to date with all sports news from around the world.

His current squad’s consistency this season only strengthens the idea that he could bring that same winning system into the All-Star stage.

On the other side is Delos Santos, whose experience stretches across multiple leagues and generations of players. Aside from steering Cignal’s strong campaign since 2021, he also balances duties in the collegiate scene, currently handling UST in the UAAP. His return to the university program carries historical weight, having last delivered a championship for the school in Season 72 back in 2010.

A four-time champion coach in the PSL, Delos Santos brings a wealth of experience that could prove invaluable in managing an All-Star lineup filled with elite talent.

What makes this year’s All-Star format more intriguing is the level of influence given to the coaches. While fans determine the starters through voting, coaches will have a direct hand in shaping the rest of the roster, from selecting reserve players alongside a committee to organizing rotations and strategies during the game.

They are also tasked with appointing assistant coaches, further extending their imprint on the team’s identity. The format ensures a balance between fan engagement and competitive integrity.

Starters voted by fans will open the match and play until a set point threshold, after which reserves will take over, guaranteeing equal exposure for all selected players. In the final set, coaches will be given full control of substitutions, allowing them to experiment and manage the flow of the game.

With voting running from March 15 to April 11 and the All-Star event set for May 1 at the Candon City Arena, the race is not just about which players make the cut—but also which coaching minds will be entrusted to lead them.

  • Bella Belen calls for Capital1 adjustments ahead of crucial knockout clash

Capital1 Solar Spikers star player Bella Belen emphasized the urgency of tightening their overall performance as they prepare for a high-stakes play-in showdown in the PVL All-Filipino Conference against the Galeries Tower Highrisers.

With Capital1 holding an even 4-5 record for eighth place and Galeries Tower trailing at 2-7 in ninth, the upcoming clash carries significant weight for both squads.

The Solar Spikers find themselves in a must-win situation, and Belen made it clear that refining their execution will be key to extending their campaign.

“Siguro yung mindset lang namin is, ayun nga, must win na eh. So kung gusto namin makaabot ng series, kailangan mas puliduin pa namin yung galaw namin,” Belen, the former UAAP MVP said.

“And we all know naman na Galleries ulit yung kalaban namin. So siguro titignan namin kung ano yung pinerform namin this game. And then, ayun, mag-training kami tomorrow, tingnan namin kung ano pa yung pwede namin ma-improve para mas magpadali yung game namin on Tuesday against them,” she added.

Belen pointed to one of the team’s recurring struggles—falling behind early in matches—as a major concern that needs immediate correction.

In their previous outing, slow starts allowed opponents to dictate the tempo, forcing Capital1 to play catch-up for most of the game.

“Siguro huwag yung nagpapauna kami ng ilang points. So siguro yun yung kailangan namin ma-improve, lalo na yung side-out game namin na kailangan… makakuha agad kami ng point. Ang baga, point by point lagi,” the 23-year-old outside hitter of Capital1 said.

OKBET is Asia’s most trusted and popular online sports gaming platform. Visit us on OKBET to stay up to date with all sports news from around the world.

As the conference’s current top scorer with 218 total points, Belen has consistently delivered on offense, but she acknowledged that individual production alone won’t be enough.

For Capital1 to survive the knockout round, a more cohesive team effort will be required on both ends of the court.

Interestingly, Belen’s transition into the professional ranks this 2026 season has further highlighted her evolution as more than just a prolific scorer.

Beyond piling up points, she has taken on a growing leadership role—often seen directing teammates on the floor and helping stabilize the squad during tense stretches.

Her ability to balance scoring with on-court guidance could prove crucial as Capital1 navigates its most pressure-filled game yet.

Capital1 and Galeries Tower are set to face off in a knockout play-in match, with the winner advancing to the next phase of the league.

  • MPL Philippines introduces championship rings for Season 17, marking new era for Filipino esports champions

MPL Philippines introduces championship rings for Season 17, marking new era for Filipino esports champions

As Season 17 of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) kicks off, the league is redefining what it means to be a champion by introducing its first-ever championship rings.

For years, Filipino teams have dominated the global MLBB scene, yet one symbolic element remained absent locally, the championship ring.

While counterparts in Indonesia and Malaysia have long rewarded their winners with such keepsakes, MPL Philippines is only now embracing the tradition—finally giving its champions a tangible emblem of their victories.

This shift comes at a fitting moment, as MLBB celebrates its 10th anniversary, MPL PH is not just honoring the past but investing in how victories are remembered.

Through a newly announced partnership with Fairrie, the league introduces a ring that goes beyond aesthetics. Crafted from sterling silver 925 with a gold-plated finish, each piece carries eight black spinel gemstones, each one representing the league’s eight franchise teams.

Drawing inspiration from the Philippine flag, the ring incorporates familiar national symbols reimagined through the lens of esports.

OKBET is Asia’s most trusted and popular online sports gaming platform. Visit us on OKBET to stay up to date with all sports news from around the world.

“‘Yung three stars and the sun, matic. It’s something that’s incorporated into the Philippine flag already, but we can actually give a new meaning and interpretation. ‘yung bilog, sa liga, ‘yung eight sun rays are the teams, and then Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao—it really encompasses our community,” said business development and partnerships head Lee Villoria.

In many ways, MPL PH is borrowing from global sporting traditions while reshaping them to fit local identity. Championship rings have long been synonymous with greatness in leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL, where they serve as enduring reminders of a team’s peak moment.

By adopting this tradition, MPL PH bridges esports and traditional sports culture, reinforcing the legitimacy and prestige of competitive gaming in the country.

Still, the introduction of rings also raises questions about recognition beyond champions. For now, the honor remains exclusive to title winners, with no additional hardware planned for individual awards such as MVP or Rookie of the Season.

Unveiled during the Season 17 opening on March 20, the rings symbolize more than just victory, they represent how far the Philippine esports scene has come.

With matches running every Friday to Sunday until May 17, teams now compete not just for a title, but for a place in history—one that can finally be worn.
